A Brief History Of Ford

There are a lot of names that are synonymous with success in America. General Electric? America. Microsoft and Apple? Both were started in America. As were MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and a variety of other social media networks that changed the way the world runs. As you can see, the rest of the world is no stranger to the quality of products that America provides.

Amongst those names, there is another name that is truly representative of America. Because when you’ve been around for over a century like Ford has, it’s not hard to mistake the power behind the name. Ford has been a part of American culture for over 100 years, helping to make memorable moments for families and friends at times when the country needed it most.

Here is a brief history of Ford, as well as some of the innovative productions they’ve brought to the mainstream.

It All Started With A Dream

Ford-Assembly-LineIt’s hard to imagine that some of the greatest minds in the world often started from the most modest of means. That is the case with Henry Ford, who was born in Michigan in 1863. In 1903 Ford officially founded the company in Dearborn, Michigan, and it would become a large staple of the local economy.

A Lasting Impression

Ford had such a lasting impression with the economy in Michigan that it was actually one of the only companies to survive the Great Depression. When you factor in that a car was an expensive item that was often considered a novelty, it’s quite astonishing that Ford was able to withstand one of the greatest economic collapses in history.

A Global Powerhouse

Not only did Ford survive the Great Depression, they would move on to thrive in the following years. Even though Mr. Ford had said previously that he didn’t want to capitalize from the war, his company proved to be very profitable during this time. They provided options for transpiration that was affordable for even the average person, which helped to increase the presence of driving on the road in general. Over time, Ford has grown to become the fifth largest auto manufacturer in the world, as well as one of the oldest.

A Continued Presence

With such a strong past, Ford doesn’t have to do a lot to reaffirm itself as a global powerhouse. However, that doesn’t stop them from conniving to reinvent the way that people use their vehicles. Whether it’s upgrading the interior of the Ford F-150 to be more accommodating to those who work from their truck, or the inclusion of more entertainment options in SUVs and crossovers to keep the kids happy, Ford offers a variety of different models that are perfect for everyone and anyone.

When a company has been a part of a culture for so long, it’s hard to realize the importance that they play. But in times when the nation has needed it most, Henry Ford and the Ford Motor Company has always been there. And that’s why the company remains a staple in the USA, as well as throughout the rest of the world.
